Many wonderful songs of praise have been written throughout the centuries and regularly find their place in our services. But there is great benefit in reading together biblical expressions of praise, in the language that God inspired. Many passages from the Psalms could be used in this way. Suitable passages from other parts of the Bible are suggested here, some combining verses from different contexts.
- An Australian Prayer Book includes versions of the following, in a form that can easily be recited together:
Hymn to the Risen Christ (1 Corinthians 5:7; Romans 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:20, p. 23)

The Song of Zechariah (Luke 1:68-79, p. 25)
The Song of Mary (Luke 1:46-55, p. 30)
The Song of Simeon (Luke 2:29-32, p. 30)
